Bombing and defence
Overview¶
Since raiding is now mostly removed from the factory system, you must be wondering how you can attack the enemy team. This will be done via bombing.
If an explosion is within range of a factory, it will become disabled in different ways. Here are some ways you can affect the logistics of a nation and how one could defend against it.
Factories¶
This is the overall system for how a bombing run affects factories.
Factory Health¶
A factory will have a health value of 100, shown inside its GUI.
If a bomb explodes within the factory's chunk, it will deal damage to the factory depending on the bomb type.
When the factory's health reaches 0, it will receive a 10% efficiency nerf.
Efficiency Penalty¶
| Factory Type | Penalty |
|---|---|
| Extraction Factories | Minimum and maximum extraction values are reduced by 10% |
| Production Factories | Production time is increased by 10% |
| Workbenches | Production time is increased by 10% |
The maximum efficiency penalty is 70%, meaning a factory cannot be reduced below 30% efficiency.
Recovery¶
Once a factory reaches 0 health and receives the 10% efficiency penalty, it will take 24 hours to regenerate that 10%.
After regenerating, its efficiency will increase by 10% until it eventually returns to full efficiency.
Repeated Bombing¶
A factory can be bombed again after 12 hours, even if it has not yet regenerated its previous efficiency loss.
If the factory is bombed again before the 24-hour regeneration finishes, another 10% efficiency penalty will be applied.
For example:
- A factory is reduced to a 10% efficiency penalty.
- After 12 hours, it can be bombed again.
- If destroyed again, it will now have a 20% efficiency penalty.
- This can continue until the factory reaches the minimum of 30% efficiency.
Vehicles¶
Vehicles carrying cargo can also be bombed or shot with anti-tank weapons or artillery.
Doing so will cause the cargo to be dropped on the floor.
- A player can carry 1 cargo.
- I recommend putting the cargo into a vehicle of your own.
- While holding dropped cargo, you are unable to town spawn.
- The cargo must be deposited into a factory to be stored.
This allows players to raid enemy logistics by attacking cargo vehicles and stealing their cargo.
Defending¶
The main defence against bombers is fighters and anti-air.
For ground vehicle attacks, players will need to defend the drivers of cargo vehicles to prevent cargo raiding.
Main Defences¶
- Fighters — intercept enemy bombers.
- Anti-Air — defend factories and logistics routes against aircraft.
- Ground Escorts — defend cargo vehicle drivers against anti-tank weapons, artillery, and enemy players.
- Cargo Recovery — recover dropped cargo before the enemy can transport it away.
